Max Yasgur

Max Yasgur was an American farmer who provided his farm land for the Woodstock Festival in 1969. "3 Days of Peace & Music" - Almost 400.000 young people and 32 bands partied over three days in a peaceful way. Many of his neighbours disapproved the hippies and their event. After the party was over the damage to Yasgurs property was extentive. Nevertheless Yasgur never regretted his decision. By supporting the young people he wanted to play a part in contributing to close the "generation gap".
